About the Speaker

Cody Davenport was born in Uvalde, Texas and graduated from Churchill High School in San Antonio. He attended Texas A&M University and received a bachelors in Military History and a masters in Construction Management. Davenport has over 20 years of experience as a builder and developer in the Uvalde and Frio Canyon areas of Texas. In 2011, he began his career in the lodging and tourism industry after the purchase of Neal’s Lodges in Concan – a staple on the Frio River since 1926. He is also very active in the community, contributing his time as a first responder and EMT. Stemming from a lineage with agricultural ties, his family is rich in history not only in Texas but Central America. His father farms in Guatemala and his grandfather was a rancher in South Texas. His family is distinguished as one of Texas’ First Families and his mother is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Davenport is a sixth generation Texan and a registered Son of the Confederacy. His passion for agriculture continued to flourish when he began volunteering with the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in 1991. He served on multiple committees for the Rodeo including: Fajita Corral, Auction, Corral Club, Lamb and Ranch Rodeo. Davenport started and led the Bar-B-Que Cook-off & Festival for nine years, now an annual event that has grown exponentially. His leadership within the organization continued when appointed an Assistant Vice President (2005), a member of the Executive Committee (2009) and President in 2015. Davenport became the Executive Director & CEO of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in June 2018. His significant volunteer efforts led him to manage the business operations of the organization. He and his wife Yvonne (also an Aggie) have two children, Terrell and Seth, one attending Texas A&M University and the other a recent graduate.xecutive Director and CEO of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.
