Monday Lunch with Ty Chumbley '06

Join us Every Monday at Aggie Park for a time of Camaraderie

About the Presentation

We will discuss the emerging changes in college students getting accepted into Texas A&M, as well as the transferability of local Alamo Colleges agriculture students. The A&M Palo Alto 2x2 agreement will change the lives of San Antonio students for years to come.

About the Speaker

Ty Chumbley '06 is a San Antonio native and a graduate of Sandra Day O’Connor High School, where he was very involved in the San Antonio Livestock Show and Texas Agriculture. He accepted a full-ride scholarship to Blinn Jr. College to be a charter member of their Collegiate Livestock Judging Team. He then transferred to Texas A&M as an Agriculture Science major, where he was very involved in Livestock Judging, Aggie Republicans, T Camp, and Howdy Camp, as well as the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.

Monday Lunch

After graduation, Ty became the youngest Livestock Judging Coach and Professor in the history of Texas State University. In 2015, he was offered the opportunity to return to San Antonio and take over the Alamo Colleges Agricultural and Horticultural programs at Palo Alto College. He has grown the program from 8 students in 2015 to over 350 today. He has helped develop the first-ever Joint 2x2 partnership with Alamo Colleges, where students can graduate with an Associate's in Agriculture and receive automatic acceptance to Texas A&M University in the College of Agriculture. This partnership will change the lives of students and help build the agriculture industry throughout the world.
