About the Speaker

Larry Luckett has researched his family history for over 25 years, tracing direct ancestors to the American and Texas Revolutions, to a Puritan who came to New England in 1630 with the Winthrop Fleet, and a ninth great-grandfather who had three sisters who were convicted Salem witches in 1692.

Monday Lunch

He is a dedicated genealogy volunteer, having served the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society as editor of their award-winning genealogy journal, "Our Heritage." As Registrar for the Sons of the American Revolution he has validated ancestor research enabling approval of dozens of applications to the SAR. A retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, Larry is also a retired board certified health physicist.

Monday Lunch

He earned a BS degree cum laude in physics from Trinity University, an MS degree in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University, and the Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University.

In addition to numerous award-winning articles, Larry has edited two family genealogy anthologies, winning recognition from the Texas State Genealogical Society and from the Conservation Society of San Antonio.
