About the Speaker

My name is Matt Reidy. I am a wildlife biologist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. I currently cover Atascosa and Medina counties and have been with the agency for 18 years. My primary duties include providing technical guidance to private landowners on wildlife and wildlife management. I assist ranches with developing harvest recommendations for game species such as white-tailed deer, as well as provide recommendations on habitat management and restoration for all manner of wildlife species. In my spare time, I also practice the sport of falconry. I have been a falconer for over 25 years and have flown several different species of hawk and falcon on different game species such as rabbits, squirrels, quail, and ducks.
